Water security refers to the reliable availability of an acceptable quantity and quality of water for health, livelihoods and production. Ensuring water security involves increasing water storage capacity to better manage droughts and surpluses, and enhancing water generation efforts such as desalination and recycling. It also entails boosting rainwater capture to utilize natural resources more effectively.
